Today, 27th September 2025, is the 3rd Anniversary of the COSY COST Action CA21101.
It is difficult to imagine how COSY started with just a few enthusiastic researchers willing to form a research community focused on confined molecular systems: from those revevant in new nanomaterials advances, to those important to understand the Physics and Chemistry in the interstellar medium.
We wanted not any research community but the one where excellence could be raised with inclusiveness and cooperativeness in the five Working Groups forming the COSY COST Action.
Here we are! .. over 460 participants having acknowledged the support of this unique COSY Action in over 200 great peer-reviewed scientific articles on the topic, a non-completed list at:
Moreover, a special collection is running in a high-impact factor journal .. stay tuned about!. Furthermore, about 78 short-term scientific missions, by mostly young researchers, have been funded to make possible so many COSY collaborations across Europe!!.
From our startings, we wanted to have good balances in gender, geographical location, and age. We wanted a network where anyone could work independently of the gender, age, or institution location.
In this way, 44% of the Workings Groups members come from Inclusiveness Target Countries, 40% are Female Researchers, with 53% of the leadership positions having taken by Female Researchers, and over 200 participants are Young Researchers (about 44%).
