Dr. Petra Čechová started her scientific path at the Department of Biophysics of the Palacký University Olomouc. She got her master’s degree in Molecular Biophysics in 2013, followed by a Ph.D. in Biophysics in 2018, both focusing on the molecular dynamics studies of the sodium-potassium pump. Before the pandemic, she spent several months at the INSERM facility at the University of Limoges, simulating different proteins involved in metabolic pathways of drugs used in the organ transplantation process. In 2020, she started to work at her current position of junior researcher at the newly created Czech Advanced Technology and Research Institute (CATRIN) back at Palacký University Olomouc.

Petra’s main area of focus are molecular dynamics studies of biological membranes and the variety of things that might interact with them – from xenobiotics to nanoparticles to protein.

Within the COST Action CA21101, she is a part of WG2 and the FemCOSY initiative, where she holds the position of the FemCOSY Coordinator.
