Our first cover, published in the journal ‘Small’, is co-authored by Miroslav Medveď, Giorgio Zoppellaro, Radek Zbořil, Michal Otyepka, and co-workers. It reports on the photogeneration of long-lived magnetic electron/hole polaron states in aspartic acid-based carbon dots and their use in the photoproduction of hydrogen peroxide through the water oxidation reaction.

Our second cover, published in the journal ‘ChemPhysChem’, is co-authored by Pablo Pinacho, Marina Šekutor, Melanie Schnell, and co-workers, illustrates the similarities and differences between oxygen and sulfur when being part of bulky molecules, as detected by high-resolution rotational spectroscopy.

Our third cover, published in the journal ‘ChemPhysChem’, shows a two-dimensional representation of a conical intersection causing a Jahn-Teller distortion that removes the degeneracy of two electronic states. The lowest-energy potential energy surface features close-lying multi minima and saddle points for bypiramidal Cu5 structures. As a result, Cu5 clusters exhibit fluxional motion, a characteristic enhancing their performance as catalysts.

Our fourth cover, published in the ‘Chemistry A European Journal’, shows how bare Cu5 clusters, synthesized electrochemically, exhibit reversible O2 adsorption, transitioning between various Cu oxidation states with changes in temperature and O2 pressure.

Our fifth cover, published in ‘Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics’, co-authored by Majdi Hochlaf and collaborators, is about the generation of potential energy surfaces of weakly bound medium-sized molecular systems, showing its performance in the case of the benzonitrile–He complex.
