This online training school aims to introduce students and early-career scientists to computational research in confined systems, spanning life and material sciences. It will focus on attracting young researchers to this interdisciplinary field, offering them valuable insights and practical skills.

The scope of the school includes:

  • Biomolecular Structure: Examining nucleic acids and proteins.
  • Novel Materials: Studying the physical properties of materials such as graphene, Dirac materials, and atomic clusters.
  • Modeling Techniques: Covering advanced methods for modeling these systems’ physical properties at various levels of organization.

Through hands-on tutorials, students will gain practical experience in advanced computational techniques, applying these tools to real-world problems in both biological and material sciences. A dedicated session will focus on training young researchers in communication skills, chaired by the Science Communication Coordinator. This session will feature talks by experts from companies specializing in visual communication in science, guiding participants on how to effectively present and communicate their research.
