We cordially invite members of the COST Action CA21101 (“COSY”), as well as all interested parties, to Wroclaw, for the Second General Meeting of our COST Action.

The meeting is focused on the experimental and theoretical characterization of confined molecular systems, from those relevant in new materials research, to those playing a key role in astrochemistry. It is an opportunity for active networking between Action members with complementary and highly diverse expertise in confined molecular systems.

The 2nd COSY General Meeting  is expected to strengthen existing ones and establish new collaborations between the Action members, it will be also an invaluable vehicle to connect all WGs together, as necessary to achieve the Grant Period Goals.

The meeting will host invited overview talks, as well as invited short talks reporting already active joint projects between Action members, including the ones related to STSM. Additionally, participants will be also given opportunity to present their research expertise in form of invited shorter oral presentations or posters in order to maximize possibility of new collaborations.

The meeting will be organized by the University of Wroclaw (Wroclaw, Poland). It will start on Monday, the 1st of July in the morning and end on Wednesday, the 3rd of July in the afternoon.

The meeting will serve as a platform to connect the five Working Groups (WGs) of COSY: (WG1: red, WG2: brown; WG3: violet; WG4 blue; WG5: green).

Travel (How to get to Wrocław)

Please note the other names used for Wrocław–Breslau (German) and Breslavia (Italian)

Travel by Plane

It is recommended to travel to Wrocław by plane.

Wrocław Nicolaus Copernicus airport (WRO) (https://airport.wroclaw.pl/) is located on the south of the city, about 30 min by car to the conference value.

There are direct flights from several European cities, and connected flights by LOT, Lufthansa, KLM, Swiss, Finnair, Ryanair, and WIZZ.

It is also possible to fly to other Polish airports, such as Warsaw, Poznań, Katowice, Kraków and then travel by train, but we do not advise such an option.

Travel by train

There are direct trains to/from Wrocław to Berlin (about 5 hours)

Travel by bus

There are direct buses to/from Wroclaw by Flixbus (https://www.flixbus.pl) convenient options include Berlin, Dresden, Prague and Brno.

Travel by car

Wrocław is well connected by highways (A8, A4) and high speed roads (S8) with travel by car below 4 h to Warsaw, Berlin, Prague, below 6 h to Bratislava, Vienna, and 7 h to Budapest.

How to get to the conference venue

Public transportation

For Wrocław (and other Polish cities) public transport we recommend the app Jakdojade (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.citynav.jakdojade.pl.android).

You can buy the ticket on the app, or you can buy the ticket on board by credit/debit card (ticket is encoded in the card).

From the airport

Bus 106 (every 15 minutes) is connecting the airport and the main railway station (“dworzec” in Polish) Wrocław Główny, total cost below 10 PLN (2 EUR).

From train/bus station

The main railway station is Wrocław Główny (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrocław_Główny_railway_station) while buses Flixbus are arriving to the main bus station, which is located in the next building (Wroclavia mall https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wroclavia).

There are trams (number 15 and 18) reaching conference centre from these locations in about 20 minutes.

By car

The taxi/uber drive from the airport to the conference venue takes about 30 min (depending on the traffic), with estimated cost 50-100 PLN (10-20 EUR).
